On August 1, 2025, four new apprentices began their journey with us – and right in their first week, a real highlight awaited them: the Apprentice Day at Biggesee on August 7. In perfect summer weather, our new colleagues experienced a day full of action, nature, and team spirit. Our current apprentices also joined in, along with their trainers.

The day kicked off at 9 a.m. with a canoe tour starting from Kirchesohl. After a brief safety and technique briefing, the apprentices paddled across Biggesee in 3- and 4-person canoes as well as a large canoe. Fun and variety were ensured by small paddling maneuvers, switching seats during the ride, and even a slalom around bridge pillars. The tour was accompanied by an experienced guide.

Around midday, a well-deserved meal awaited: On the sun terrace of the “Im Rosenthal” inn near the Biggesee climbing park, participants enjoyed Sauerland specialties of their choice – with a view of the lake and in a relaxed atmosphere.

The afternoon was all about adventure and team spirit: Geocaching in Rosenthal, along the circular trail of the pre-dam basin. The final coordinate led to the climbing park. Tricky puzzles, exciting tasks, and the challenge of heights turned the tour into a real experience. Teamwork was essential – and fun was guaranteed.

Those who still had energy could continue climbing freely from 3:30 p.m., enjoying the heights and testing their personal limits.

The event ended around 4 p.m. – with lots of smiling faces and a successful start to the apprenticeship.
