Thinking globally, acting regionally

After the catastrophic floods that wreaked havoc and destruction in our region as well at the end of July, it was clear to EURODRILL that we wanted to help flood victims. In order to ensure that our donations would be used locally, we decided to support the successful flood victim-aid operations conducted by the local Meinerzhagen chapter of the AWO relief organization. We donated €5,000 to the local Meinerzhagen chapter in recognition of the outstanding work performed in local and regional networks by Susanne Berndt and her team there.

This work also included coordinating a special after-school center for local children and youths that was set up by the AWO sub-chapter for Hagen/Märkischer Kreis. By November, the money had been used by to pay for clothes dryers needed by five families in Hagen, Altena and Schalksmühle. Approximately €1,000 was also spent for tile-laying in damaged houses. There’s still some money left – which means other people in need can still get help.
